Shakira's real name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, a professional and popular singer from Columbia. She is also a songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer and philanthropist who became popular since 1990s.

Her music is rock and roll, Latin and Middle Eastern influence with her own original twist on belly dancing. Shakira's first two album are flopped. In 1995, she released her album, the Pies Descalzos, which brought her great fame in Latin America and her album in 1998, ¿Dónde Están los Ladrones? sold 7 million copies worldwide. Her first English single "Whenever, Whenever", became best selling single of 2002 and the Laundry Service sold over 13 million copies worldwide. Her two album Fijación Oral Vol. 1 and Oral Fixation Vol. 2 became a success particularly her single "Hips Don't Lie".

She was decorated with many awards such as two Grammy Awards, seven Latin Grammy Awards, twelve Billboard Awards, twelve Billboard Latin Music Awards. She was also able to sold over 50 million albums worldwide. In 2009, her 6th album She Wolf with single "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" was chose song for 2010 FIFA World Cup. The song become a hit worldwide even in You Tube with almost 375,000,000 views. Her 7th album, the bilingual Sale el Sol, was released October 2010 and has shipped over 4 million copies worldwide.
