Born on July 22, 1992, Selena Marie Gomez is considered as one of he most popular lady personality today. She is an American actress, singer, musician and fashion designer. She became famous in Disney Channel television series "Wizards of Waverly Place" acting as Alex Russo.She was also designated as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 2008.
Selena's talent in acting was influenced by her mother Mandy Teefey, a former stage actress. Selena's career started in 2002 at the age of seven, playing Gianna on "Barney & Friends". Later, she had a support role in "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" and TV film, "Walker", "Texas Ranger: Trial By Fire" and "Brain Zapped". In 2004, she was a guest star on "The Suite Life of Zack & Cody" and then a recurring role in "Hannah Montana" season 2 and 3. In 2007, she played Alex Russo in Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place that became big hit. In 2008, she appeared in Another Cinderella Story and had minor voice over role in "Horton Hears Who". In 2009, she did an appearance to her bestfriend Demi Lovato's Sonny with a Chance entitled "Battle of the Network Stars" and later with Lovato again in "Princess Protection Program" Also in 2009, she appeared in "Hannah Montana" and "Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie". In 2010 she appeared in theatrical film "Ramona & Beezus", "Monte Carlo", and 4th season of Wizards of Waverly Place. In 2011, she was attached to the lead for novel "Thirteen Reasons Why" by Jay Asher from Universal Pictures and Strike Entertainment. She also co-host the 2011 Muchmusic Video Awards.
Selena Gomez started her career in music in 2008. She recorded a cover of "Cruella de Vil" for the compilation album DisneyMania 6, recorded three songs for the "Another Cinderella Story", and "Fly to Your Heart" for 2008 animated film Tinker Bell. She recorded "One and the Same" for Princess Protection Program" as duet with co-star Lovato. Selena made a cover for the "Wizards of Waverly Place" soundtrack, a single titled "Magic". She also feature with Forever the Sickest Kids in duet version song "Whoa Oh". Her band Selena Gomez & the Scene first album "Kiss & Tell" was certified Gold by RIAA. The second Album "A year Without Rain" placed at number 4 in Billboard 200 selling 66,00 copies. The third album "When the Sun Goes Down" placed also Number 4 o the Billboard 200 selling 78,000 copies on its first week and on the following week it rose to Number 3.
Selena was also a part of Sears back-to-school fashion ad campaign. She has her own company, July Moon Promotions and partnered with XYZ Films. She launched her own clothing line called "Dream Out Loud by Selena Gomez" with Tony Melilio and Sandra Campos. Later she had signed an agreement with Adrenalina for fragrance product.
