Cher referred as Goddess of Pop, is Cherilyn Sarkisian on real name. She an American recording artist, Emmy Award-winning televesion personality, award winning actress, director, record producer and philanthropist. Some of her accomplishments in her career in music, television and film are an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, three Golden Globes and Cannes Film Festival Award. Cher began her career in 1965 as backup singer and later as half of the pop rock duo Sonny and Cher. She established herself as solo recording artist, then as a television star in 1971 with "The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour" which she won a Golden Globe Award. She then starred in hit films "Mask, The Witches of Eastwick and "Moonstruck", in which she won the Academy Award for Best Actress 1988.
Cher's career span over six decades from 1960s up to present. She sold over 100 million albums worldwide. She holds the Hot 100 record for the longest hit-making career span. Cher ended her 3-year-long "Farewell Tour" in 2005 as the most successful tour by a female solo artist of all time. She was able to release 25 albums, 34 Billboard Top 40 entries over her career.
